The words we use effect how we think. How we think effects the how we are physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Healthy positive thinking effects the quality of our lives. Good thoughts, a positive attitude, expectation and appreciation of good things in our fellowman and in our lives have a direct link to the quality of our lives and more than a small impact on those around us. We should "use words that uplift".
Foul words like foul air are highly pollutant and bring us down morally, socially, and spiritually. Just as air pollution has an adverse effect on our physical health, mind pollution has a demoralizing effect on our mental, moral and spiritual health.
I firmly believe that public use of words like the “f” word or taking God’s name in vain is far more politically incorrect, than hot ethnic words that people get so excited about. Ethnic words target ONE group and the use of those words is indisputably abrasive and inconsiderate. Public intolerance of ethnic slurs speaks well for our culture that this is generally not tolerated and shouldn’t be tolerated. But vulgar words are offensive to ALL of mankind and an affront to decency and these words shouldn’t be tolerated either.
No one can dispute the virtue of the No Cuss movement no matter what kind of a defense they can put forth, no matter how much they resent someone messing with their head or telling them what to do or not to do. Even if you speak cuss-Latin, or plant a cuss word in between syllables of words, you should support this cleanup effort and join this group http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=111765552195869. Setting a standard, no matter how high, no matter how reachable, will raise the morale for more peaceful living and better social harmony.
